Wire Fraud and Cybersecurity Warning

Real estate and escrow transactions are frequent targets of wire fraud, email compromise, phishing and impersonation.

Never rely solely upon wiring instructions received by email.

Before transmitting funds, independently verify all wiring instructions by contacting your Premier Escrow Services, Inc. escrow officer using a telephone number you already know to be legitimate.

If you receive an email, text message, or telephone call stating that Premier Escrow's wiring instructions have changed, do not transmit funds based upon that communication. Contact Premier Escrow immediately using independently verified contact information.

Premier Escrow Services, Inc. will never ask you to disregard previously established verification procedures because a transaction is urgent.

Email communications can be intercepted, altered, or impersonated. Premier Escrow cannot guarantee the authenticity of instructions transmitted through unsecured electronic communications.

If you believe you have received fraudulent wiring instructions or transmitted funds to an incorrect account, contact your financial institution and Premier Escrow immediately.

The California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation warns consumers about fraudulent escrow websites and recommends independently verifying that an escrow company is properly licensed before disclosing financial or personal information.
