CertifID Wire Fraud Protection
Premier Escrow Services, Inc. uses CertifID as part of our wire fraud prevention process, giving every client an added layer of verification before funds move. Wire fraud is one of the few risks in a real estate transaction that can cost you everything in a single afternoon, and it catches people off guard precisely because the fraudulent email or phone call looks completely ordinary. Building CertifID into how we close every transaction means that protection is already part of how we do business, not something you have to think to ask for.
Your Protection, At a Glance
Verified Banking Details
Before any closing funds move, CertifID confirms that the wiring instructions and bank account actually belong to the party you intend to pay.
Verified Identities
Buyers, sellers, and other parties can be identity-verified through CertifID, not just recognized by an email signature or a caller ID that can be spoofed.
Insured, Backed by Recovery Support
CertifID's Money Protection Plan adds a financial backstop, and if funds are ever misdirected, their Fraud Recovery Services team works to get them back.
Why We Use CertifID
Wire fraud targeting real estate and escrow transactions has grown more sophisticated every year. Criminals impersonate escrow officers, lenders, and title companies by email, text, and even phone calls that look completely legitimate, and a single mistaken wire can be gone in minutes. We built CertifID into our process because verifying who you're sending money to, and where that money is actually going, shouldn't depend on trusting an email alone.
CertifID is a wire fraud prevention and recovery platform used across the title and escrow industry. When it's part of your transaction, it gives us a way to independently confirm banking details and identities before we release closing instructions, instead of relying solely on a phone call or an email thread that a fraudster could have infiltrated.
What CertifID Protects Against
CertifID's tools cover the points in a transaction where wire fraud most often happens:
- Verifying banking information. CertifID confirms that the wiring instructions and bank account tied to a transaction actually belong to the party you intend to pay, before funds are sent.
- Verifying identities. Buyers, sellers, and other parties can be identity-verified through CertifID rather than through an email signature or a caller ID that can be spoofed.
- Insured wire protection. CertifID offers wire insurance through its Money Protection Plan, giving transactions an added financial backstop if something goes wrong.
- Fraud recovery support. If funds are ever wired to a fraudulent account, CertifID's Fraud Recovery Services team works directly with financial institutions and law enforcement, including the U.S. Secret Service, to try to recover stolen funds. According to CertifID, that team has supported more than 800 fraud victims and helped recover over $127 million to date.
Figures above are reported by CertifID as of 2026 and reflect their platform generally, not a guarantee for any individual transaction. Ask your Premier Escrow officer which of these protections apply to your specific closing.
For Real Estate Agents and Brokers
If you're referring clients to Premier Escrow Services, CertifID is one more reason they're in good hands. Wire fraud doesn't just put a transaction at risk. It puts your reputation on the line too, and a client who loses money to a fraudulent wire rarely blames the criminal first. What they remember is who they were working with when it happened.
Recommending an escrow company that treats wire fraud prevention as standard practice, not an upsell, is part of protecting your own name along with your client's closing. When you refer a client to Premier, they're behind CertifID's identity verification, banking verification, and insured wire protection from the moment escrow opens, without having to ask for it or pay extra for it.
We're glad to walk you or your brokerage through exactly how CertifID fits into our process, so you can speak to it confidently the next time a client asks how their funds are protected.
What This Means for You
You still won't be asked to send money based on an email alone. Even with CertifID in place, always verify wiring instructions by calling your escrow officer at a phone number you already know to be correct, never one provided in an email or text you weren't expecting. CertifID adds another layer of protection on top of that habit; it doesn't replace it.
